The rules. Written for humans.
These terms apply to every rental and crew booking made through Gear House. They are short on purpose. If anything is unclear, ask us on WhatsApp before you confirm — we would rather explain now than argue later. Version 1.0 · October 2026 · French version available on request · In case of dispute the French version prevails.
01Who we are & what this is
Gear House is a brand operated by , (RC , ICE ). We rent audiovisual equipment and provide crew, either from our own stock or from partner rental houses and owners who list their gear on the platform. In all cases, your contract is with Gear House: we are your single point of contact, we issue the invoice, we hold the deposit and we handle any problem.
Submitting a request on the website is not a booking. A rental exists once we have confirmed dates, quote and pickup slot in writing (WhatsApp or email) and you have accepted.
02Prices, days & VAT
- Prices are in Moroccan dirhams (MAD), excluding 20 % VAT, per rental day. The website estimate is indicative; the confirmed quote is binding.
- A rental day runs from pickup to the next day at 12:00. Return before noon and that day is not billed.
- Weekend rule: Saturday pickup, Monday return before noon = 1 day.
- Long rentals: 3 days = 2.5 days billed; 7 days = 5 days billed; 30 days = 18 days billed.
- Crew is billed per 10-hour day including a one-hour break; overtime at 1.5× the hourly rate; half-day (≤ 5h) at 60 %. Transport inside Casablanca is included; outside, per diem of 300 MAD/day plus accommodation at cost.
- Foreign productions: export-service invoices may be VAT-exempt with the proper documentation. Ask before confirming.
03Payment — on the spot
Nothing is paid online. The rental is paid in full at pickup (or at delivery), before the gear leaves, by cash, card on our terminal, bank transfer received beforehand with your reference number, or company cheque for registered companies with a signed purchase order. We issue the invoice at the counter. Extra days, damage, late fees and consumables are settled at return.
Registered companies with a track record may be granted 30-day payment terms on written agreement.
04Identity & deposit
- Identity: Moroccan CIN, or passport plus proof of address for visitors. A copy is kept for the duration of the rental and destroyed after return (see § 10). For companies: the signatory's ID and the company's ICE.
- Deposit: approximately 30 % of the replacement value of the gear, shown on every product page and totalled in your request. Accepted as a guarantee cheque made out to the operating company (not cashed), a card pre-authorisation, or a bank transfer refunded within 5 working days of return.
- Companies may replace the deposit with a signed purchase order and ICE, at our discretion.
- The deposit is returned when the check-in condition report is signed. If damage, loss or unpaid fees are recorded, we deduct the amount and return the balance, with an itemised statement.
- We may refuse or limit a rental, or ask for a higher deposit, for high-value cinema packages, first-time clients, or shoots in harsh conditions (sand, sea, desert, rain).
05Handover & condition report
At pickup we go through every item together: quantities, serial numbers, function test, visible condition — filmed and signed by both sides. You receive the video and the signed list. The same happens at return. The condition report is the only reference in case of dispute. Allow 15–30 minutes for an FX6-type kit, longer for cinema builds; we can pre-build cinema cameras the day before for a technician fee.
By signing the handover report you confirm the gear is complete and working. Problems discovered on set must be reported to us immediately by WhatsApp so we can swap or assist.
06Your responsibility, damage & loss
- You are responsible for the equipment from handover until it is checked back in — including theft, loss, damage, weather, sand, water, and transport.
- No rental insurance product for audiovisual gear currently exists in Morocco. Productions holding their own equipment policy may provide the certificate before pickup; we will note it on the contract.
- Damage is billed at the manufacturer or authorised repairer's quote plus the rental days the item is out of service (capped at 10 days). Loss or irreparable damage is billed at the replacement value shown on the product page.
- Normal wear (minor scuffs, consumables, gel, tape) is never billed. Missing small accessories (caps, cables, cards) are billed at replacement cost.
- The equipment may not be sub-rented, lent, or taken out of Morocco without written permission.
07Hours, late returns & extensions
- Counter hours: . After-hours pickup or return on request, 300 MAD surcharge.
- Every started day after the agreed return time is billed as a full day.
- Need more time? Message us before the return time — extensions are confirmed only if the gear is not booked next. Unannounced late returns that block another client's booking carry a 50 % penalty on each late day.
08Cancellation & changes
- More than 48 hours before pickup: free.
- 24 to 48 hours before: 50 % of the first rental day.
- Less than 24 hours or no-show: 100 % of the first rental day.
- Crew bookings cancelled under 24 hours are billed a full day; under 48 hours, half a day.
- Cinema-tier packages (Alexa, RED, Cooke / Zeiss sets) and multi-week rentals need 48 hours' notice and may carry specific terms stated in the quote.
- If we have to cancel — equipment failure, force majeure — we offer an equivalent replacement or a full refund of anything already paid. We are not liable for consequential production costs.
09Delivery, travel & location shoots
- Delivery or collection inside Casablanca: 400 MAD per trip. Other cities: quoted per job from 1 500 MAD; a technician can travel with the gear (crew rates apply).
- For shoots in desert, beach, sea or rain conditions, tell us in the request: we may require protective covers, a technician, or a higher deposit.
- Drones are not offered: civil drone use in Morocco requires specific government authorisation.
- Shooting permits, locations and CCM authorisations are the production's responsibility; we can introduce licensed production-service partners.
10Data, privacy & media
- We collect only what the rental needs: name, phone, email, ID copy, company details. Data is processed under Moroccan Law 09-08 (and GDPR for EU residents), kept for the legal invoicing period, and never sold. ID copies are destroyed after return and settlement.
- Your gear list is stored in your browser only until you send it. Requests are stored on our systems to prepare and follow up your rental.
- Memory cards and drives are formatted 48 hours after return. Back up your footage before returning media. We are not responsible for data left on returned media.
- With your permission we may mention your production in our "shot with Gear House" credits. Ask us not to and we won't.
11Partners who list gear on Gear House
Rental houses and owners who list equipment agree to: accurate descriptions and serial numbers; equipment delivered to Gear House tested and clean, or handed over at their counter under the Gear House condition-report process; the commission stated in their partner agreement; and that the renter's contract, deposit and payment run through Gear House. Partners are paid within 7 days of the rental's return. Full partner terms are in the partner agreement. Become a partner →
12Booking named crew
- For producers. When you add a named crew member to your gear list, you are asking Gear House to book that person. The booking is confirmed only when we confirm the person and the dates on WhatsApp. Rates shown are set by each crew member (never below our floor for the role), per 10-hour day, excl. VAT, inside Casablanca; overtime, half days and travel follow section 02 and 09. If the person becomes unavailable, we propose an equivalent crew member or remove the line at no cost.
- Crew are booked through Gear House and invoiced by Gear House. Please don't arrange paid work directly with a crew member you found on the platform for 12 months after the booking; if you do, the platform fee in our quote applies.
- For crew members. Your profile is reviewed before it goes public, and we may hide or remove a profile that is inaccurate, out of date or that breaks these terms. You set your own rates above the role's minimum; rate and photo changes on a live profile are reviewed before they show. You keep your blocked days up to date, confirm or decline each job we send you, and don't take clients met through Gear House off the platform. Joining and being booked is free at launch; if paid plans are introduced later you'll be told in advance and can leave at any time.
- Crew work as freelancers (auto-entrepreneur or company) unless agreed otherwise in writing; Gear House pays the agreed rate within 7 days of the job's end, on invoice.
13Crew profiles & privacy
- What we publish once your profile is approved: name, photo, roles, rates, city, languages, years of experience, bio, credits, the gear you bring, showreel links, stills you upload and your unavailable days. What we never publish: your email and phone number — only Gear House sees them.
- Why: so producers can choose and book you through Gear House. Legal basis: your consent, given when you create your profile, and the contract when you're booked. Data is processed by Podsty SARL under Moroccan Law 09-08 (and GDPR for EU residents) and stored on our servers.
- Your rights: you can see, correct or delete everything from your crew space at any time (Account → Delete). Deleting removes your profile, photos and login immediately; past bookings stay in our invoicing records for the legal period. You can also write to us to access, correct or object to processing.
- Showreels play from Vimeo or YouTube, whose own privacy terms apply when a visitor presses play. We keep anonymous counters (profile views, list adds, requests) to show you your statistics.
14Law & disputes
These terms are governed by Moroccan law. Electronic acceptance (website checkbox, WhatsApp or email confirmation) is valid under Law 53-05 on electronic exchange of legal data. We will always try to settle a disagreement directly first; failing that, the commercial courts of Casablanca have jurisdiction.
